The first step in assembling the plan is creating the draft vision and guiding principles. Together, they set the framework for the plan and foundation for resident working groups to forge goals, policies and implementation actions.
The Wordsmith Challenge gave residents an opportunity to review the draft vision and guiding principles to make sure they honor residents' voices heard over the past year. In comparison to the amount of outreach conducted, the level of participation in the challenge validates the draft vision statement and guiding principles accurately reflects the things that matter to most residents. However, refinement was needed.
